Machine Startup Sequence to Prevent Camera Issue

Equipment affected: Spectrum and Prism Prime engravers

The VISTA camera may not connect properly when starting a machine from a “cold” condition – where both the engraver and embedded computer are OFF.

To prevent this, start the machine using this method:

  1. Turn ON the machine first, using the green Power ON button.
  2. Turn ON the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) that the embedded PC is connected to. The UPS sits on the floor inside the electrical cavity of the machine. Turning on the UPS starts the PC.

Powering up the Embedded PC before the machine is far likelier to produce the camera connection issue. If you do encounter the camera issue, restart the embedded PC with the machine turned ON. You can restart the software using the Restart function on the Computer Management page of the Spectrum GUI.

  Opens the Computer Management page

  Restarts the PC

Once the camera is connected, turning the machine ON and OFF will not affect the camera connection if the Embedded PC remains running.
